Scholarships
SNSC's mission is to ensure that all young athletes with interest in Nordic skiing have the chance to learn and develop their Nordic skills in SNSC programs.
All SNSC members get approximately 35% of program fees covered through grants and fund raising -- this is automatic. We also offer a discount (10%) for families with multiple athletes in the program. The scholarship program is additional to all discounts.
new! Race scholarships
We are very pleased to offer additional scholarships to help cover race costs for extraordinary races (like Junior and Senior Nationals). Race scholarships are merit based (not exclusively need based).
Applications and Deadlines: Race scholarships will have a rolling deadline. To apply, please send a letter outlining the race, its costs and your personal goals. Letters can be sent via email or mail.
Program Scholarships
We offer scholarships for all of our programs. Scholarships typically range from $50 - $800 (depending on program and number of applicants).
Occasionally we will award larger scholarships (and in some cases full scholarships) for special situations or when financial need is high.
Decision Process
SNSC uses an anonymous process for making scholarship decisions. All applications are assigned a number and any identifying aspects are removed. The SNSC board makes scholarship decisions through this blind process and all applicants and recipients are kept completely anonymous.
